In a world where there is rarely anything new under the sun in the world of internet sites this one took my breath away.
The Virtual Studio is amazing and surely this must be the future in how goods are displayed and marketed online.
The Test Bed, PCW's blog, raise the question of whether prices for tech purchases are beginning to get silly following CPW's purchase of AOL UK's subscriber base.
Google's monumental purchase price for YouTube, a company that had made no profit and made it's income from Adsense ads[1], is another example.
Nobody is buying quietly and cutely these days; make a big splash and everything ramps up a little bit more against common sense.
Using the javascript tools from del.icio.us I have created a brain homepage at Oyster Hill Media.
I'm pleased with the way that the page looks but the script is not browser safe eg. the bullets don't look good in IE.
Also, because the feed is in JS the Adsense ads don't pick up the context of the page. I was hoping to see what kind of ads were served based upon the links I saved at del.icio.us.
Here's a little story I like to tell about three young Beasties I know so well: Oyster Hill Media; now with a del.icio.us little update.
Syd Barrett, one of the original members of legendary rock group Pink Floyd, has died at the age of 60, the band's spokeswoman has confirmed.
A sad day in the world of rock.

I owned the original Tungsten E which came in the same shaped packaging and had the same look and feel. Eventually, I sold it because of the limitations that have now been resolved in the Palm TX model; a bigger screen and wifi access to the internet.
MobileTechReview give it 4/5 and reviews.cnet.com give the T|X an excellent 8.0. In their eyes, the Palm TX does well on available ROM memory (128, 114 available).
Zurich ranks as the world’s top city for quality of living, according to a survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, released on Monday 10th. The city scores 108.2 and is only marginally ahead of Geneva, which scores 108.1, while Vancouver follows in third place with a score of 107.7. In contrast, Baghdad is the lowest ranking city in the survey, scoring just 14.5.
The analysis is part of an annual World-wide Quality of Living Survey, covering more than 350 cities, to help governments and multinational companies place employees on international assignments. Each city is based on an evaluation of 39 criteria, including political, social, economic and environmental factors, personal safety and health, education, transport and other public services. Cities are ranked against New York as the base city, which has an index score of 100.
Mercer has released a new report called Managing Quality of Living for Expatriates which provides information to enable HR professionals and others to understand the importance of assessing worldwide standards of living, including personal safety and security, health issues, cleanliness and pollution and transportation. More than 100 cities have been selected from Western and Eastern Europe, North and South America, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim. DPReview have recently given the Canon PowerShot S80 digital camera a Highly Recommended rating.
The Canon PowerShot S80 digital camera has a 8 megapixel CCD plus a 3.6X optical zoom. I particularly like it because it has a wide angle lens on it plus a large 2.5" display on the back.

Personal Computer World (PCW) have just bestowed their Editors Choice on this personal laser printer.
These days the cost per page, when it comes to printing, is starting to work in favour of laser printers and this one certainly looks the part. For any small business to have one of these in the corner would certainly suit most purposes.
